Dr. Shoba Srinath


Dr. Shoba Srinath is a retired Senior Professor from the Department of Child and Adolescent psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health& Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore.

She did her MBBS at the Karnataka Medical College, Hubli and DPM and MD in Psychiatry from NIMHANS, Bangalore.
Dr. Shoba’s major areas of clinical interests and research are childhood autism, obsessive compulsive disorders and mood disorders.

She has helped set up a major infrastructure for service and training at NIMHANS and trained a large number of professionals in child and adolescent mental health. She has been a member on many boards and advisory committees and advocates for the cause of children.

Dr. M.V. Ashok


Ashok Mysore, Professor of Psychiatry and Head, Department of Psychiatry, St.John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore, is a recognized expert in autism. He conceptualized the conduct of Global Autism Convention (GAC I) in 2011 along with a few key NGOs in Bangalore along with Rotary Club. He strongly believes in the need for major research initiatives to help understand autism spectrum disorders and also actively serve those diagnosed with autism better, especially in LAMICs regions of the world. He sees this Convention in December 2018 as a major step towards these goals

He is the Convener of the Karnataka State Coordination Committee for persons with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism and multiple disabilities. He is also the President of Parivaar which is the National Federation of Parents’ Associations (For Persons with Mental Handicap, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Multiple Disabilities).
